MY STORY

Hi, I am so grateful to have you here and I trust that the universe has an intention or a plan for you, in ensuring that I have crossed your path for a reason.

I'm a primary school teacher and the business owner of 'Find Your Shine'. This means that I work in schools teaching children the curriculum, while also mentoring women and children to work on their wellbeing and make empowered, inspired change in their life through

Find Your Shine.

The truth is, my whole life I grew up believing we had to pursue the 'safe' option, and fit in the 'box' moulded by society, so I finished school, went to university and studied hard to become a teacher.

During that time, I began to fall in love with learning about what it means to feel happy. I wondered why some people shined with happiness and others didn't. I observed the wellbeing of the children I taught, colleagues I worked with, and my friends and family. I realised that happiness is not a checklist. A dream job, a good home, a partner. These all mean nothing if you haven't found a way to feel full and content in your own mind and heart.

Just over a year into teaching, I tuned into my intuition and decided to follow my passion to help people find their shine. Honestly at 23, I could have continued to teach for the next 40+ years of my life and been very happy, although, I could almost visualise and predict what my life would look down the track, and that scared me. Married, a couple of children, a homeowner, pool out the back and a puppy (her names Marley by the way). I could see Skye "comfortable", "settled" and very much in her "comfort zone".

That's where Skye 2.0 came in. I took my passions and figured out how to make a sustainable career out of them, while still being able to work as a primary school teacher and implement wellbeing focused programs and activities into my school. And now, I have the most beautiful, soul-filling balance, of part-time Miss Norford, and part-time Business owner of 'Find Your Shine'. I now not only get to work with young children, teaching them to find their shine within the school setting, but women and families outside of it too.

Following my passion, in the last few years, I have taken on the role of running our staff wellbeing days at school, run Yoga and Mindfulness sessions during lunch time for the students, and have implemented wellbeing strategies into our daily classroom routines. Not only that, but I have been able to lift Find Your Shine off the ground, helping so many women and young children feel full and content in their mind and heart.

The aim behind everything I do, is to remind people to work on their wellbeing in order to find their shine! And that's where the name came from. I consistently say our goal at find your shine is to wake up everyday and do the work! No one can do the work for us. We control how we feel! This is why our building blocks at 'Find Your Shine' are nourishing routines, good habits and positive inner-dialogue.

Through my services, programs and teachings, I get to wake up every day without an alarm (well most days! Let's be real here) and do what I love, and most importantly, what lights me up. And, I want to show you how you can find your shine too.

I've been told the best thing about me is experiencing my vibes. And, I can't show you that in website copy, so I won't bother trying. But I'm sure if you choose to work with me (I would love that!) or get a taste of what 'Find Your Shine' is all about, you will figure it out.

All my love, Skye xx
