Finding your shine is taking control of how you feel.
To me, happiness is not a checklist, a dream job, a good home, a partner. These all mean nothing, if you haven't found a way to feel full and content in your own mind and heart.
As I experienced life in my 20's, I grew a lot!!! I experienced the up's and downs and curve balls that we call life. During this time, I also engaged in lots of personal development and began obsessed with the idea of 'wellbeing' and what that looked for women and children. Why do some people feel like light, warmth, and radiate happiness, and others didn't.
Through my own journey, I began to take notice of how I felt on a daily basis. I learnt; I controlled how I felt. If I wanted to feel like sunshine, happiness and ooze with liveliness, then I needed to take control of my day from the moment I woke up. I begun referring to this as 'finding my shine' and made it my mission everyday to take action towards achieving it.
As a primary school teacher, my observations of the students within my classroom, was that they needed to learn this too. Not only that, but by also observing my own friends and family, I began to notice that some of them may not of known this either. So I made it my mission to share my own learning with others.
Want to become the light you were born to be?
I've created these 5 simple steps. 5 little reminders to tick off and complete daily. This is not new, perhaps ist just hasn't been broken down in a simple easy way for you to remember, and that's what I want to remind you. The building blocks and non-negotiables to feeling like that warm, happy, vibrant person I mentioned above, who radiates happiness.
Move like you love yourself - Get Active
Eat like you love yourself - Nourish Your Body from the insides
Speak like you love yourself - Control your mindset
Act like you love yourself - Have fun and engage in regular self-care activities
Show love to others - Spread kindness
Only when we have found our shine, can we share our light with others, awakening the sun in them too. I call this the ripple effect and once you find your shine, i'm sure you will begin to notice the effect this then has on your partner, children, family, friends and work colleagues. People notice when you're happy!
So here's me sharing my light with you.
Spread your light too xx
All my love Skye xx
